Margaret H.

Pet Name:
Tristan

My name is Margaret, and I have been in dog rescue for 2 years. I’ve always had a passion for dogs, but I have just recognized my passion for rescue. I have been with DFW Tzus and More Rescue since it began, and have been a member of Legacy Boxer Rescue (LBR) for 2 years. I was born in Phoenix, AZ, but I grew up in Dallas, and then lived in Austin for a few years, while I attended UT (Hook ‘em Horns!). I have one brother and two sisters, and we grew up with a rescued cocker spaniel who was old when we got her, and a Doberman who was given to us as a puppy. Over the years, I have had poodles, mutts, Aussies, and now shih tzus. I loved all of them fiercely, but the tzus have captured my heart. What wonderful little babies they are—independent, but sweet—and oh so cute! I currently live in Arlington with four of them—Mei Lyn, Su Ling, Mu Shu (a rescue), and Tristan (a rescue)—oh, and a husband, Bill (who would be thrilled to know I included him in the household, I’m sure). The signature on my e-mails reads, “Dogs aren’t our whole world, but they make our world whole” (Roger Caras), and I believe that with all my heart.
