The Tale of A Beloved Senior Dog: Nina and I
Submitted by MBrodersen on Sat, 05/30/2009 - 15:40Here`s a story of a sweet little dog named Nina who is almost 12 or 13 years old, we're not sure.
Nina belonged to another family who didn`t treat her wery well, in fact they were mean to her. My Dad had passed away and my Mom was pretty lonely. A friend of the family knew of the situation and thought they both needed each other. It was love at first sight and a blessing for both of them. My Mom had her for about five and a half years, and then my Mom passed away.

These little fluffsters seem to be coming out of the woodwork, or as we say over and over, "It is raining Shih Tzu again". Not a day goes by that we don't receive emails or phone calls asking us to take one or more dogs from shelters or owners in distress. Even though adoptions have been good, we can't open up foster space fast enough. We "desperately" need more foster homes!

Even though we have had several adoptions in the last couple of weeks, we still have many homeless dogs who deserve a home of their own. The dogs are coming in at an ever increasing rate due to the economy. SO, if you have been thinking of getting a new family member, now is the time, Lincoln Square Petsmart is the place.
Just ask any homeless dog. ADOPTATHON was definitely a SUCCESS
Submitted by cbarekman on Mon, 05/11/2009 - 22:54A large crowd turned out for the Adoptathon at the Ballpark on Saturday. All animal shelter and rescue groups had a very productive day. A big thanks to all who came out and adopted from the animal shelter groups, and to those who completed applications with DFW Tzus and other rescues. It was heartwarming to see a large number of homeless dogs find their forever homes, and to know that several DFWT&M dogs have some great applicants with several home visits scheduled.

Shih Tzu Rescue Rocks.....Good News for our Homeless Dogs!
Submitted by cbarekman on Sun, 04/26/2009 - 23:49It was a great day for the DFW Tzus furbabies with our Tzu Review being extremely busy from start to finish. Many excellent applicants attended, and our volunteers did an awesome job of matching them to our homeless fluffs. Two home visits were done following the Tzu Review with others scheduled for later in the week.

We have some of the cutest, sweetest, and most loving companion dogs right now....from babies to older adults. Some are calm and reserved lap dogs, others are playful and in your face.

Due to the prediction of inclement weather, at the last minute, we canceled our participation at the Wild about Flower Mound Festival.... with some disappointment and a few misgivings, of course. In hindsight, it couldn't have been a better decision for foster Tzu, Jared Leto, and his new family.
